Welcome Back!

Another semester at FLC is starting and we couldn't be more excited. If you're a new student, we can't wait to meet you. If you're returning, welcome back. There are a few big changes this semester. First, Connect will now be Thursdays at 6 pm in Jones 140. We will also have dinner each week at Connect so don't miss it. Second, we'll be hanging out Tuesday nights for snacks and going deep together with God. If you want to join us for that, rides to dinners will meet at the campus bus stop at 6 pm on Tuesdays. We are excited to grow closer to God together this semester!

Connect tonight (September 16th)!

Connect is almost here!!! We'll be meeting tonight, Tuesday, Sep. 16th, in Noble 125 (we're not going to meet in the amphitheater due to rain). There will be gift bags (with t-shirts and other goodies) for everyone who comes and SWEET prize giveaways as well. There will also be food, friends, a great band and most importantly, an awesome message from God's word that is relevant to you in college. It will be a great time of connecting with God and friends. Animas Beach Party Tonight at 6!

Thursday dinner will be a blast tonight. Home made lasagna, games on the "beach" on the Animas river, fun, friends and great times. This will be a Thursday dinner you don't want to miss. Join us for a great night of making new friends and hanging out with old ones. Come even if it rains, in that case we'll just hang out at the Hillewaerts. It'll be a great time. We'll do Thursday dinners every week this year but this may be the only "beach party." It will be a blast. Get the Facebook invite here and join the Connect Facebook group here. First Connect of the Year on Tuesday!!!

The first Connect is almost here!!! Tuesday, Sep. 2, we'll be meeting at 6:00 pm in the Amphitheater on campus (if it rains we'll be in Noble 125). God's Not Dead Movie

Tonight (Sunday, Aug. 31st) at 7:00 pm we'll be showing God's not Dead for free on campus, in the Vallecito Room in the Union Building (above the campus post office). In addition to the free movie, there will be a very short presentation on some of the great evidence for God and a short Q&A. We'll also have snacks and drinks and will be giving away free resources that will help you stand strong in your faith at school. 

Whether you're a Christian who just wants support at school, an atheist wanting to debate your views or someone who is just curious, you're invited and we'd love to get to know you.

Connect BBQ is today!!!

The BBQ is finally here. Returning students, get ready to hang out and have a great time. New students, get excited to meet a ton of students, eat free food, play great games and have the most fun you've had at campus so far. Welcome to Connect at FLC!!!

Welcome to FLC!!! Whether you're a returning student, a new freshman or a new transfer, we're excited to meet you. Connect is a non-denominational Christian group at FLC. We're excited about having more fun than anyone on campus and growing closer to God and each other in the process. Whether it's a weekly meeting, a leadership training class, Bible studies or staff mentoring on campus, we're doing something on campus about every day of the week. Check out the upcoming schedule below and either message us (from the staff page) or drop by an upcoming event to meet us. We can't wait to meet you and we know God has GREAT things in store for you here at FLC.

Welcome to the Fall 2014 Semester! 

Coming up soon!

Saturday., Aug. 30 - BBQ at Santa Rita Park (Mapquest here) from 4 pm till as late as people want to hang out. Free food, fun, games (basketball, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, etc.) and more.

Sun., Aug. 31 - Rides to local churches. Meet at 9:30 am at the bus stop in front of the Union Building. We'll give you rides to whatever churches you'd like to visit.

Sun. Aug. 31 at 7pm (Vallecito Room in the Student Union building) - God's Not Dead movie followed by a short presentation on how to stand strong in your faith on campus. We'll also give you great resources that will be a huge resource and we'll follow it all up with a Q&A.

Connect, Sep. 2 in the Amphitheater (unless it rains, then we'll be in Noble 125) - Connect is a great place for fellowship, praise and growing together in God and His Word.

Thursday Dinner at the Hillewaerts (Sep. 4) - We'll share a meal together, hang out and have a ton of fun. Meet Thursday at 6 pm at the Union building bus stop for rides to the Hillewaert's house.

Sep. 5-7 - Camping Trip to Pagosa Springs. Hiking, fishing, hot springs, tourist stuff and more will make this an incredible way to finish off your first week at FLC.

Sep. 12-13 - Guys’ camping trip and Ladies’ weekend at the Ranch. 

Semester Schedule:

Connect - Connect is a great place for fellowship, praise and growing together in God and His Word. Connect meets Tuesdays from 6:00 - 7:00 pm in Noble Hall 125. Note: Tuesday Sep. 2 and Tuesday Sep.9 will be in the amphitheater (unless it rains, then we'll be in Noble 125).

Bible Studies - There will be 5-10 weekly Bible studies on campus. These will meet throughout the week. Come to Connect Tuesday for info on Bible studies.

Leadership Training - Our ministry leadership training class is cutting edge and will be extremely valuable. You'll receive a leadership training workbook when you attend. More info soon.

Thursday Dinners and hang out times - Every Thursday we share a meal together, hang out and have a ton of fun. Afterwards we do all sorts of great stuff, including Q&A discussion times, guys nights, ladies' nights, game nights and more. It is always a blast. Meet Thursdays at 6 pm at the Union building bus stop for rides to the Hillewaert's house.

Student Retreats - We'll have retreats the weekends of Sep. 26-28, Oct. 31-Nov. 2 and Dec. 5-7. Retreats are a great time to get away and spend a weekend in the mountains, growing closer to friends and God.

There are also other great things to get involved in that will be announced at Connect. These include prayer meetings, outdoor activities and other good stuff.

BEST RETREAT EVER!!!

The retreat is FINALLY here!!! Here are the facts:

When: Sep. 27-29. Meet tonight, Friday, 9/27, at the Union bus stop at 6:30 pm for rides!

Cost: $10 (if it's your first retreat). Everyone else - $17 if you prepay, $20 at the door.

Where: Cascade Lodge (in the San Juan National Forest, minutes from Durango Mountain Resort / Purgatory).

Activities: In addition to growing closer to God and making new friends, we'll have paintball, a clay pigeon shoot, archery, a guided mine tour (where you actually get to ride an old mine train into the mountain and explore - this activity will cost an extra $17.50), cliff jumping, rock climbing, hiking in the Colorado mountains, fishing, indoor games (board games, pool, ping-pong, foosball, etc.), seeing fall colors at about their peek, a huge bonfire and much more.

Bring: Sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, Bible, notebook, warm clothes, cold clothes, shoes, boots, sports equipment and anything else you think you'll need.

What you'll learn: Thriving in your walk with God and thriving in life (including time tested tips for thriving in college). There will also be a Q&A with upperclassmen about what they've found leads to thriving in college.

This will be one of the greatest weekends of your life. Please let us know soon if you'll be coming (we'll be giving away a ton of gifts & prizes for those that register early)!!!

Connect - Solid Evidence for Faith in Christ

Does God exist? Can faith and science coexist? Is the Bible really true? Is Jesus really real? You'll find solid answers to those questions and more at Connect tonight, Tuesday, 9/17 at 6:00 pm (5:30 for pizzas) in Noble Hall 125. We'll also give everyone that comes a small booklet that will help you remember great answers to those questions. This Connect will help you stand strong when you face doubt, be prepared when your faith gets attacked in class and be ready to give a solid defense of your faith whenever the need arises. Breakfast for Dinner at the Herbsts!

Get ready for another great night. We'll be having breakfast for dinner at our place tonight and we really hope you'll join us. It will be a great time and you'll be able to meet a ton of new friends and hang out with old friends. We'll also have fun, games and the famous Q&A. It's Tuesday!!! Connect will be incredible tonight. Come hear how God really changes peoples' lives. You'll hear from several staff and even a former NBA basketball player. We'll have a great time praising God together as well. Also, there will be pizzas afterwards (and small groups again for those of you who want to go deeper). Anyway, it will be a great time. Connect is finally here!!! Tonight is the night so invite all your friends and get ready for a great time!

Rides to Local Churches

New in Durango? Looking for a great local church? Well, meet at the Union building bus stop at 9:30 am this Sunday morning and we'll give you a ride. Rides will be leaving to several different churches so whatever your denomination something will work out. We can't wait to see you this morning!

You'll get to meet a lot of new friends. We'll be at Santa Rita Park (the one by the river with the big train) from 4:30 till however late people want to stay. Meet at 4:30 at the Union bus stop for rides and we'll all drive down from there. Then, everyone who wants is invited to the Hillewaerts for even more fun afterwards. Welcome to the 2013 Fall Semester!!!

We're so excited you're here for the 2013 fall semester. This is sure to be one of the best ever. Here is a quick overview of some of what is coming up this fall.

BBQ and Hangout time - Saturday, August 31st, we'll be having a huge "Welcome to FLC" BBQ. You are invited. Meet at 4:30 at the Union Building Bus Stop on campus for rides! We'll have free food, tons of friends, fun things to do and we'll be doing a night hike afterwards. It will be great. Bring your friends. 

Connect - Connect is a great place for fellowship, praise and growing together in God and His Word. Connect meets Tuesdays from 6:00 - 7:00 pm in Noble Hall 125. Note: Sep 3 & 10 we'll be in the amphitheater, weather permitting, so meet us there at 6. Note: We will be giving away an Ipad mini and tons of other prizes at the first Connect. There will also be pizza afterwards.

Moab! - We'll be going camping in Moab Friday - Sunday, Sep. 6-8. It will be an incredible time mountain biking, hiking, exploring and getting to know each other. Plan on joining us! More info at Connect.

Ladies' retreat - September 20 - 21.
